Southern Durham defeated Mooresville 54–47 to capture the NCHSAA 7A state championship.
After trailing at halftime, the Spartans took control in the second half, outscoring Mooresville 31–23 over the final two quarters. A.J. Morman led Southern Durham with 16 points, including several key baskets in the fourth quarter, while K.J. Terry added 13 points to help secure the victory. The win marked the first boys basketball state championship in school history for Southern Durham.
