CARY, N.C. — Orange Lutheran captured the 2026 National High School Invitational championship, holding off Venice (Fla.) 7–6 in a tightly contested final at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
The Lancers set the tone early, plating three runs in the first inning and building a five-run cushion. Venice mounted a late comeback, chipping away in the middle innings and bringing the tying run into scoring position in the final frame, but Orange Lutheran recorded the final outs to secure the title.
Orange Lutheran’s Eric Zdunek was later named tournament MVP after playing a key role throughout the championship run. The victory marks Orange Lutheran’s fourth NHSI title in program history.
